SUMMARY:Our Quarterly Children’s Welfare Program
DESCRIPTION:Our commitment to uplifting vulnerable children remains unwavering. Every three months\, we dedicate time and resources to our Children’s Welfare Care Program\, ensuring that children in impoverished communities receive the support they need to thrive. \nReflecting on Our Most Recent Outreach\nIn our most recent quarterly children’s welfare outreach\, we reached out to underprivileged children Enugu state Nigeria\, and other communities in Sierra Leone\, providing them with financial aid\, educational materials\, nutritious food\, clothing\, and shelter support. The smiles on their faces were a testament to the impact of our collective efforts. \nDuring this event\, we: \n✅ Celebrated birthdays with children who had never experienced a birthday celebration before\, giving them joy and hope.✅ Distributed school essentials—textbooks\, writing materials\, school bags\, and uniforms to children in need.✅ Provided financial support for school fees\, helping many children continue their education.✅ Offered nutritious food packages to improve the health and well-being of children facing food insecurity.✅ Gifted clothing and essential supplies to ensure every child has access to proper attire and basic necessities. \nLooking Ahead to the Next Quarter\nAs we celebrate the success of our past outreach\, we are already preparing for the next quarter’s program. The need is still great\, and with your support\, we can reach even more children\, offering them a brighter and more promising future. \nWe invite volunteers\, donors\, and partners to join us in making an even greater impact in the next three months. Every little effort counts in changing a child’s life forever. \nStay connected with us as we plan for another life-changing event. Let’s continue to bring hope\, joy\, and opportunities to vulnerable children!

SUMMARY:Ebola Fundraiser: Supporting Sierra Leone During the Ebola Crisis
DESCRIPTION:In response to the devastating Ebola outbreak in West Africa\, particularly in Sierra Leone\, the Salt of Hope Charity Foundation\, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Ebola Action Group Australia (SLEAGA)\, launched a critical fundraising campaign. This initiative provided essential medical supplies and food to support the efforts of the Sierra Leonean government and its people in combating the deadly Ebola virus. \nABC interview: Former refugee Isaiah Lahai now calls Tasmania home\n\nhttps://saltofhope.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/abcinterview1.mp3\nSTAR-NEWS ON SALT OF HOPE RESPONSE TO EBOLA VIRUS \nhttps://saltofhope.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/STAR-NEWS-02-17-2015.mp3.mp3\nKey Achievements \nShipment of Medical Supplies: Through generous donations\, we successfully shipped two 40-foot containers filled with medical supplies and non-perishable food items\, each valued at over $220\,000. \nFundraising for Shipping Costs: Each container shipment required $7\,500. While we fully covered the cost for one container\, we initiated fundraising efforts to cover the remaining expenses and future shipments. \nImpact of the Ebola Outbreak \nThe Ebola outbreak\, which began in Guinea in early 2014\, rapidly spread to neighboring countries\, including Sierra Leone. The situation overwhelmed the nation’s healthcare infrastructure\, leading to shortages of medical staff and protective equipment. As of September 26\, 2014\, Sierra Leone had reported 1\,920 confirmed cases and 529 confirmed deaths\, with numbers rising daily. The epidemic also resulted in numerous orphans and severely impacted the country’s economy. \nOur Commitment \nThe Salt of Hope Foundation remains dedicated to supporting Sierra Leone during health crises. We continue to collaborate with local and international partners to provide essential resources\, raise awareness\, and contribute to the nation’s recovery and resilience.
