About us
We are dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that address challenges in education, vocational training, and elderly care, fostering hope and resilience within communities.
Vision Statement
Every child is special and deserves access to quality education and a bright future—free from poverty and injustice. Education is the light that shines in the darkness, empowering children to lead purposeful and productive lives while contributing positively to their communities.
Mission Statement
Salt of Hope Foundation is committed to preserving and restoring hope for the most vulnerable children in the world. We strive to support orphans and at-risk children by providing them with access to quality education. At Salt of Hope, we firmly believe that every child has the right to learn, grow, and build a better future.
Our Story
Salt Of Hope was founded by Mr. Fayia Isaiah Lahai, whose personal journey from adversity to advocacy has been a driving force behind our initiatives.
Our Founder
Isaiah's Journey
Born in Sierra Leone, Isaiah's life took a drastic turn in 1991 when civil war erupted, forcing him to flee his hometown at the age of 14. Separated from his family, he endured a perilous journey, eventually reuniting with them after days of uncertainty. The ensuing years were spent in refugee camps across Guinea, where Isaiah faced the harsh realities of displacement for 14 years. Despite these challenges, he remained resilient, finding hope and purpose amidst adversity.
In 2006, Isaiah and his wife Lovett were granted asylum in Australia, marking the beginning of a new chapter. Settling in Tasmania, Isaiah pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. His experiences fueled a passion for community involvement, leading him to advocate for culturally and linguistically diverse communities. His dedication was recognized in 2011 when he received the Human Rights Award for his efforts in promoting social inclusion in Tasmania.
