New Classrooms Needed for Aladura Primary School’s Tablet Learning
Aladura Primary School in Buedu, Sierra Leone, needs three new classrooms and a teachers’ store so its pupils can take full part in the government’s new tablet programme.
For 14 years, Aladura Primary School has given children in Buedu a place to learn. Our founder, Isaiah Lahai, built the school and has run it since it opened. This term, the government introduced a tablet programme, with tablets provided by Imagine Worldwide, and our pupils are now learning on them with headphones.

The problem: not enough rooms
According to the school staff, the school does not have the space to run the tablet classes:
- Pupils in the tablet classes sit on mats on the floor, together with the kindergarten children.
- Classes 3 and 4 share a single classroom.
- Teachers find it difficult to teach so many children of different ages in one room.
- There is no separate store room for teachers.
What we are raising funds for
- Three classrooms, so that classes 3 and 4 each have their own room and the tablet classes no longer share space with kindergarten.
- A teachers’ store for teaching materials and equipment.
How you can help
- Give towards the new classroom block.
- Share this story with friends, your church, your Rotary club or your workplace.
